JACK WELCH,born in Des Moines, Iowa on October 17,1923 and died November 30, 1956, in the crash of a B-52 in California. He married MARILYN.



Jack attended Lincoln High School in Des Moines, Iowa where he graduated in 1941. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps January 20, 1943 and served as an enlisted man until commissioned 3 Feb 1945. He served continuously until his death in 1956.

Jack completed bombardier Training at Mather Air Force Base, CA. and navigator training in April 1945. He held a Navigator rating and was highly skilled in the field of navigation, having flown a total of 3,362 hours in military aircraft. Capt. Welch was associated with the 329th Bombardment Squadron since January 8, 1956.

Capt. Welch holds the following awards, decorations, and citations: American Theater Ribbon, World War II Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and National Defense Service Medal.
